Support for Parents

Our community offers a range of local services aimed at supporting you in your journey through parenthood. Whether you're seeking guidance on child development, in need of parenting workshops, or simply require a supportive network, we have resources readily available to assist you.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need support to explore the services below. We understand that parenting can be both rewarding and challenging, and we're here to lend a helping hand.

Buggy Walk and Talk with Livewell

Come and meet other new parents for a friendly walking social in the fresh air. Bring baby/toddler ready to go in a pushchair. There is no need to book, please come along anytime from 12.30pm for tea and toast first.

A culturally and religiously sensitive breastfeeding club that provides a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where black, asian and minority ethnic mothers can access culturally sensitive education, resources and support to overcome barriers and feel confident in breastfeeding.

Bridge the Gap Drop-in Sessions

Sinfin family hub, Sinfin Lane, DE24 9SF

These free drop-in sessions offer a friendly and relaxed space for families to support their wellbeing, get creative and talk to the Bridge the Gap team. Parents, expectant parents, babies and young children (Under 5) are all welcome. Parents can ask questions around behaviour, sleep, or emotions, can take part in creative activities set up for them on the parent table, or can enjoy some time playing with their baby or child. Our toys and books are a great way to gently introduce emotions and support your baby or child's development. There's no need to book, just come along.

Derby Signing Families Group - booking required

Mackworth Morley Family hub, Reigate Drive, Mackworth, DE22 4EQ

This group is available to families with a deaf child and/or deaf parent in the Derby City area. We provide families with access to a safe and welcoming environment where your child/children can play with other children. Come along and enjoy a wide range of activities including malleable and creative activities, outdoor play, and games! The health team visits on the first Tuesday of every month for you to get your child weighed and ask any questions related to your child's development. For 0-5 year olds (term time) and 0-8 year olds (school holidays).
